The Puerto Rico series was an eight-month making journey heavily influenced by my 100-Day Project and challenged my process and self-imposed boundaries , revealing with each reworked composition how realism becomes abstraction when paintings are cut-up, collaged, altered, torn apart, rearranged and cut-up again. Inspired by a trip circumnavigating this beautiful and buoyant island, the series brings together watercolor collages with experimentation in mixed media blending ink drawings, watercolor paintings, and collage to illustrate the character and charm of Puerto Rico.
