About
Sharon Feller (1964) is a mixed media collage artist and a recovering perfectionist. In a society that peddles perfection, her process embraces her belief that the sum of many parts makes an imperfect yet more authentic whole.
Her travels inspire compositions that play with juxtaposition, scale and color to magnify, celebrate and invite the viewer to connect with place. A resident artist at Water Street Studios in Batavia, IL since 2018, she works en plein air and in studio. Studying under Leslie Baum, a Chicago-based artist and instructor, Sharon explores making strategies, honing a transformational process to create stylistic source materials she tears or cuts up and assembles into collages.
Sharon seeks to spark joyful connection in increasingly tumultuous times. With the abstract rendering of familiar objects, exaggerated scale and surprising color palettes, she brings her viewer a puzzle to solve or a message to unlock, anticipating that moment of joy that comes when the connection is made.
A degreed interior designer, she has been making art imperfectly for as long as she can remember. Her first solo exhibition opened in January 2026 at Gallery 777 in Lisle, IL.
